Nanocomposites of poly(vinylidene fluoride) with oxide nanoparticles for barrier layers of flexible pipes

Poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) with commercial rutile-TiO2, SiO2, α-Al2O3, and Fe3O4 nanoparticles were prepared via extrusion using different contents, from 0.1 to 10 wt.%. The effect of the in matrix on several material characteristics, such as thermal mechanical properties, crystallinity degree, permeability CO2, examined. X-ray diffraction infrared analyses revealed that successful incorporation increasing amounts PVDF reduced total but increased β-phase content almost all nanocomposites, suggesting an improved interaction between filler polymer. degree was 30 38%, good stability degradation obtained. highlight present work is observation PVDF/rutile-TiO2 PVDF/SiO2 nanocomposites showed barrier CO2 compared PVDF. Such a conclusion tends demonstrate rutile-TiO2 SiO2 associated resulted materials applicable layer flexible risers.
